There are so many different moving pieces when it comes to planning a wedding and both hair & makeup are such an important part of the bride’s special day. This is why booking hair and makeup artists for your wedding day should be done well in advance to ensure you get artists that understand the specific bridal look you are going for.
I recommend booking your hair and makeup artists immediately after booking the venue and choosing the date for your special day. A lot of bridal blogs tell brides to wait until the 6 month mark to book hair and makeup and that’s just horrible advise because most of us accept bookings a year in advance!
How to Book Your Hairstylist
Once you decide on your preferred artist, secure your hairstylist for your wedding day by signing a contract and putting down an initial deposit. Many hairstylists get booked very quickly, especially during peak wedding season, so booking in advance helps to ensure you’ll get your preferred artist for your wedding day.
So I’ve booked my hair and makeup artists… now what?
These are some of the next steps I recommend after securing your hairstylist for your wedding day…
- Talk to your hairstylist about any hair inspo you have for yourself or your wedding party
- About 3 months out from your wedding day, book a bridal trial with your hairstylist
